How do students join?
Your school's email domain gets mapped to your Yura institution, verified by a DNS record or email. From then on, any student who signs up with their school address is enrolled automatically. No rosters to upload, no approval queue to babysit. If your school doesn't have its own email domain, register with your staff emails instead: we'll set your school up with a starting roster and send an invite to each student's own email. Once they accept, they're automatically placed under your school.
Can we set graduation hour requirements?
Yes. Requirements take a target, a period, and a scope: all students, or specific Volunteer Groups like grade levels and NHS chapters. Progress recomputes from verified logs, and the compliance report shows Required, Completed, and Remaining per student.
What if a supervisor isn't on Yura?
Students name an External Verifier when they log. That supervisor gets a one-click email link to confirm or adjust the hours. No account needed, and you can see which verifications are still pending.
Do external verifiers or supervisors need to make accounts on Yura to approve service hours from our students?
No. External verifiers sign off from their own email, no account needed.
Do teachers see every student?
Yes, if they choose to. Teachers, counselors, and principals can each set their own view: scoped to just their own students, or opened up to the whole roster.
Can we require specific fields on every log?
Yes. School-wide custom fields, like supervisor name, service category, location, or a reflection, appear as required fields on every student log.
We have years of paper records. Do they migrate?
Bulk spreadsheet import brings historical hours in, with an auto-verify option, so student records are complete from day one.
What do exports look like?
Excel and PDF, built from verified hours: the formats counselors hand to NHS, scholarship committees, and college applications.
